The sixth year of the Wests Tigers joint-venture saw them start at long odds for the Premiership with an inexperienced roster and having never qualified for a finals series. A run of eight wins in a row saw them rocket into the top four and under the stewardship of captain Scott Prince and coach Tim Sheens take the 2005 NRL Premiership from the Cowboys 30 -16. The game will also be remembered by fans for the famous Benji Marshall flick pass behind his back to set up a try for Pat Richards.
