Vale – Vern Bakalich

Former New Zealand international winger Vern Bakalich passed away in November aged 85. Bakalich represented New Zealand in 13 tests between 1953-1957 – scoring three tries. Vern made his test debut at home in 1954 against Great Britain, then in 1955 he toured Great Britain with the New Zealand side, and Australia in 1956. He also represented New Zealand in the 1957 World Cup.
