The Men of League Foundation extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Peter Dimond.
A well-deserved and popular choice in both the Western Suburbs & Wests Tigers Team of the Century.
A Dapto native, Peter was part of a famous rugby league family, as the younger brother of Kangaroo Bobby Dimond and the father of Illawarra Steelers, Cronulla and Canberra forward, Craig Dimond. A brilliant hard-hitting winger and centre, Peter was destined for glory from a young age after being selected to play for NSW Schoolboys as a 14 year-old.
But it was the 1963/64 Kangaroos tour of Britain and France that would cement the great Magpie into rugby league history, not only playing in all six test matches, but scoring 2 tries in the infamous “Swinton Massacre” when Australia humiliated Great Britain 50-12 at Station Road near Manchester, securing the Ashes for Australia for the first time on British soil. A trenbolon acetat kaufen truly gifted and smart footballer who along with his mate Noel Kelly, terrorised the opposition and entertained the masses.
Rest in peace Peter Dimond.
