Vale Anne Briggs

Anne Briggs lost her long brave fight against cancer on Sunday, 11 August with her family by her side. 

In 2002 Anne was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was was relieved to be given a 10-year clearance early last year but sadly not long after Anne was given the news that the cancer had returned.
 
Anne spent many years following her son Matthew's rugby league career at Souths Toowoomba and Pittsworth working in canteens for helping where she could.

As Anne was a long time Canterbury-Bankstown supporter Men of League arranged for Steve Price (Anne's favourite player) to present a Bulldogs jersey personally signed by him. Former international John Peard accompanied Steve and kept Anne and her friends entertained.

Anne is survived by her husband Peter, children Debra, Rebecca and Matthew (current Pittsworth player) their spouses and her special six grandchildren.
