Rugby league icons join Illawarra Finals Luncheon

The rugby league community of the Illawarra and surrounds is invited to celebrate the rugby league finals season with icons of the game Ron Coote AM and Royce Simmons with the Men of League Foundation Illawarra Committee for their annual finals luncheon on Friday 22 September at Dapto Leagues Club.

Ron Coote, Men of League Foundation Honorary President and co-founder, will be joined by Royce Simmons, NSWRL Premiership winner and long-time supporter of the Foundation. Both rugby league icons will be sharing finals insights from their long and successful rugby league careers with St George Dragons legend Steve Edge, who will MC the luncheon.

The Illawarra Men of League committee is encouraging the local community to get together to rub shoulders with rugby league elite, all while helping to raise important funds for the Foundation and its work with the men, women and children of the rugby league community.

Men of League Foundation’s Illawarra Committee President, Peter Fitzgerald, says the day will be a fantastic fundraising event for the Committee, encouraging everyone in the Illawarra area to come along and share their love of rugby league.

“This is our annual luncheon and it’s always a great day. We’ll hear lots of tales from our special guests, who all have a wealth of rugby league experience. It’s also rugby league finals time and our guests have played dozens of finals games in their glittering careers, so it will be exciting to hear their insights,” concluded Peter.
