A Melbourne Storm experience for Paul Fisher

Paul Fisher, who played with Logan City, Cronulla and in England, has Motor Neurone Disease.

Our Men of League Foundation Melbourne Committee Treasurer, Jason Fiddes, was contacted by Paul’s brother to advise that the extended Fisher family were travelling to Melbourne with Paul to attend the finals game between the Melbourne Storm and Parramatta Eels.

The committee worked with the Storm Football Director Frank Ponessi who arranged for the Paul and his family to attend the captain’s run on the Friday and meet with the players including Cam Smith and coaches. They were also permitted to show the family through the Storm office and training premises at AMMI Park and meet with one of Paul’s old teammates at Cronulla, Robbie Kearns.

On hand to chaperone the family were members of the Melbourne Committee Jason Fiddes, Dallas Johnson, Billy Brant and Peter Foreman. The committee also provided lunch for the family after the visit and talked about all things rugby league.

Paul and the Fisher family were extremely thankful for the experience that we were able to provide and we are very grateful to the Melbourne Storm for their ongoing support of our the Melbourne Committee and Men of League Foundation.
