Northern Sydney Committee Christmas Kick Off Club – Another great success

The Northern Sydney Committee’s recent Annual Christmas Kick Off Club was a resounding success! The weather gods were kind to the organisers and our local Men of League Foundation members and supporters of the Foundation came along in pleasing numbers (120+!) enjoy a sunny afternoon on the huge back veranda of the North Narrabeen Surf Life Saving Club, with master chefs Ian McKenzie and Greg Grace cooking up a storm over the barbecue. The function was advertised as a family affair and pleasingly a number of families attended.

A special welcome was paid to Kevin Langdon, Jeff Simmonds, Lee Ferrier and Tim Pickup, who have become our close friends in our wellbeing activities over the last few years. A warm welcome was also extended to young Sea Eagles players Lloyd Perrett and Jackson Hastings for their attendance and participation in an interesting interview with Denis Bendall. A great number of ex Balmain Tigers, Western Suburbs and North Sydney Bears rugby league players attended and contributed greatly to the success of the event.

Committee President Trevor Bailey gave a yearly overview on our wellbeing visits made, assistance provided to those in the local rugby league community facing hard times and outings undertaken plus comments on the functions/fundraisers held in the last 12 month period.

Newly appointed Men of League Foundation NSW Manager Bruce Walker presented a well received delivery on his position and plans in his new role.

We sincerely thank all who attended and those who assisted in making the event a resounding success.
