Men of League Foundation Announces New Captain

The Chairman of the Men of League Foundation, Ron Coote AM, has today announced the appointment of Peter Collins as Chief Executive Officer commencing 27 June 2016.

Peter has an impressive and diverse professional background. He has worked with Qantas for a total of 24 years in both its aviation and travel interests, his early business days were spent in the banking sector and he has successfully operated his own consultancy. He played rugby league throughout his youth, has worked with the Panthers Group as Chief Commercial Officer and has a keen love for, and understanding of, the rugby league community.

He brings senior executive expertise to the Foundation and has a history of outcomes and achievements attained through personal and team leadership. He is a highly skilled administrator and communicator at all levels of management, with a strong track record in closing deals and partnering with sponsors and stakeholders to build positive mutual business outcomes. Peter has a Bachelor of Economics degree and a Masters of Business. Amongst other organisations, he has participated in the Sydney First Chamber of Commerce, the Avis Industry Advisory Board, Air Pacific Limited and is a proud Masters competitor at Freshwater SLSC.

“I am absolutely delighted that someone of Peter’s reputation, energy and capabilities has chosen to lead our organisation at a critical and exciting stage of our evolution as the charity of rugby league,” Mr Coote said.

“The men, women and children we assist every day deserve the highest level of professionalism we can bring to the operation and strategic direction of this wonderful charitable foundation.

“With our highly qualified and deeply engaged national board providing direction and oversight, Peter leading our staff, committees and volunteers to ever greater outcomes and the staunch support of our members, I am confident we are extremely well placed for the next stage of our growth,” Mr Coote concluded.
