Les Pearce – Member of the Month

As part of a new initiative, each month we will be featuring a member who has shown outstanding generosity, compassion and commitment to the Foundation.

Last month our inaugural ‘Member of the Month’ was Gold Coast Committee member, Greg Sylvester. Read more about Greg’s contributions here.

This month, we are honoured to highlight Les Pearce from our Central Coast Committee.

Les was nominated by fellow committee member Dennis Tomsett for the time and energy that he gives to the Foundation. Les has been a member since 2002, and at 79 years of age, he is still driving many kilometres around the Central Coast area to help those most in need.

Les has been a great supporter of rugby league, having commenced and finished his playing career as a one-club player for Dubbo Macquarie. Les also coached sides in Dubbo, and after moving to the Central Coast became the first full-time secretary of the Woy Woy Roosters for a number of years.

Les’ most memorable moment with the Foundation was his involvement with Jim Williams who was told he would never walk again. Through support offered by the Men of League Foundation, Jim was able to overcome this incredible challenge. Les was honoured to be a part of Jim’s journey and was the reason he joined the Foundation.
