Injuries – will they hurt teams’ chances this year?

After seeing Roger Tuivasa-Sheck receive a season-ending injury on the weekend, I wonder how many other crucial injuries could hurt a team’s chances of winning a premiership?

We have seen similar injuries happen already this year with Billy Slater (Storm), Mose Masoe (Dragons) and Kane Elgey (Titans) all ruled out for the season. For different reasons here, Club Coaches have had to adjust their thinking from the pre-season, and the style they thought they were going to play.

Other clubs that have been hurt by long term injuries like Souths (John Sutton) and Bulldogs (Brett Morris) have to wait till Round 17 for their stars to return.

We have also seen the Roosters decimated with injuries early in the year which has severely affected their season with only one win under their belt so far and the Club sitting at the bottom of the table.

In my opinion, it’s no coincidence that the teams sitting at the top of the table currently have a very clean bill of health!
