Date announced for Men of League Foundation annual gala dinner

An inspiring and entertaining night is assured when the Men of League Foundation host their 2019 Annual Gala Dinner on Saturday 27 July at the Sofitel Wentworth Sydney.

With just over three months to go until the Foundation’s night of nights, all members of the rugby league community are encouraged to purchase their tickets early and pencil this red-letter date in their diaries now!

As usual, the Annual Gala Dinner will be a chance to rub shoulders with rugby league royalty while helping to raise money for the volunteers, referees, administrators and players of the great game who are out funds, out of luck or out of hope.

Men of League Foundation Chief Executive Officer Stephen Lowndes says that the Annual Gala Dinner will be even bigger and better in 2019.

“The Foundation is excited to invite all within the rugby league community to join us for what is sure to be a fantastic evening of celebration and recognition,” Lowndes said.

“It’s a unique and very special night where we get to highlight the tremendous, positive impact that our loyal army of volunteers across the country has on the lives of those we support.”

In an exciting move, the Annual Gala Dinner will be held on a Saturday night rather than midweek for the first time ever. “It’s a most enjoyable and entertaining event and we hope the weekend timing will provide a better opportunity for couples and partners to attend this prestigious black-tie event, rather than after a busy work day.”

“As always, the Gala Dinner is one of the most important opportunities for us to raise much-needed funds to continue to serve those in need, but we need to ensure people have a great enjoyable night too of course” Lowndes said.

“All funds raised from the night will assist the Foundation in our mission of supporting those within the broader rugby league community who are experiencing hardship.

“We are proud to provide assistance to many men, women and children involved with rugby league at all levels through the delivery of physical, financial and emotional support.

“I look forward to a very caring and generous crowd joining us in July for this fabulous cause,” Lowndes concluded.
