2003: Panthers v Roosters – Great Scott

Boasting just one player in their starting side with grand final experience, the Panthers arrived as the firm underdogs against the 2002 premiers, the Sydney Roosters.

With rain falling consistently throughout the match, a 6-0 score line greeted the sides at half-time in favour of the chocolate soldiers.

The Roosters squared the game up at 6-all almost immediately after the interval, before just minutes later, tri-colours winger Todd Byrne found himself in open space streaking down the sideline, only for final-game veteran Scott Sattler to produce one of the all-time cover tackles.

The Panthers went on to win the arm-wrestle, Panthers rake Luke Priddis claiming the
Clive Churchill Medal for his try and decisive cut-out pass to winger Luke Rooney which sealed the famous win.
