Wholehearted support for Red V fan, Molly

Western Sydney Publicity Officer Kylie Murphy and Wellbeing Officer Garry O’Donnell recently made a Wellbeing visit to see young Molly Croft at Ronald McDonald House.

Molly is having treatment to replace a part of her tibia with an artificial tibia. She has Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, which will be treated with chemotherapy over the next six months. The artificial tibia is being made in London at the moment and when attached will grow with the leg.

Molly’s parents Angela and John have moved down from Dubbo to stay at Ronald McDonald House for Molly’s treatment and recovery. John is looking to do some tilting work while in Sydney while Molly’s sister Maddison will stay in Dubbo for schooling and will commute to Sydney as often as she can.

The girls are very good sportswomen with Molly excelling in netball and basketball, and Maddison a representative touch footballer and basketballer. Molly’s dad John  is a Men of League Foundation Wellbeing Officer for the Western Region and has been a valued committee member of the committee for six years.

The Western Sydney team will keep a close eye on the Croft family while they are in Sydney and have invited them as special guests to our Western Sydney committee’s function at Smithfield RSL next Friday.

A big thank you to Michael from Icons Of Sports for liaising with the St George Illawarra Dragons to have a  2018 signed jumper and a toy Dragon presented to Molly, who is a huge Red V supporter. The gifts made Molly’s day, as did the video of encouragement from NRLW Dragons player Kezie Apps.
