Visiting rugby league fans at Royal Rehab in Ryde

On a recent visit by our National Wellbeing Manager Ben Ross and Northern Sydney Wellbeing Officers Ken Vessey and Fred Jackson to the Royal Rehab Centre in Ryde, the enthusiasm and excitement shown by several clients in the Brain & Spinal Injury Units, as the NRL Final Series approached, was quite astounding.

Those whom we met and spent valuable time with supported various NRL clubs including Newcastle Knights, Penrith Panthers (this pleased Ben!), St George Illawarra Dragons, Sydney Roosters, Wests Tigers and the Parramatta Eels. It was obvious from their comments/knowledge of these Clubs, they had been keen supporters of rugby league for a long time.

Amongst those we met included Matthew, Edward and son Liam (a promising Hooker in the making), Paul, Grant, Greg, John and wife Donna, Steve and our longstanding friend Troy and wife Nicolle. They spoke freely about the varied specific injuries they had sustained and the rehabilitation/recovery regime they were undertaking at Royal Rehab. Once again, it was a pleasure to visit and meet these brave and inspirational people.

We again thank Steven Lowndes, Chief Executive Officer and Martina Fox, Marketing & Community Relations Manager (and her trainee pup Freya) for the welcome and hospitality shown to us .
