Vale Tommy Baxter

Former New Zealand rugby league centre Tommy Baxter passed away on Monday 26 May at the age of 84 following a long illness.

Tom represented New Zealand in 29 tests between 1949-1956, scoring six tries. He captained his country on 10 occasions, including the 1955/56 tour of Great Britain and France.

He was inducted into the New Zealand Legends of League in 1995 and in 2007 was named in the New Zealand Team of the Century.
