Vale Terry Wand

The rugby league community is mourning the sad and sudden loss of Terry Wand OAM.

Terry has been a long time member of the Foundation and has recently served as the Tuggerah Lakes Committee Secretary and Wellbeing Officer.

Terry is a life member of the Wyong Rugby League Club (and has the club beer garden named after him), is a life member of the Central Coast Division of Country Rugby League and holds the number 1 badge for the Wyong club.

He had a long and successful playing and coaching career which included winning the Harold Mathews Cup in 1980. More recently Terry helped shape the landscape of rugby league on the central coast in his role as head of the Country Rugby League Central Coast Division.

Terry’s long commitment to the game was recognised with an Order of Australia Medal in January 2017.

The Central Coast will be worse for his passing, with Terry a passionate and dedicated worker for many causes including Soldiers Beach Surf Life Saving Club, Wyong’s Heritage Committee and Masonic Lodge.

Terry’s funeral will be held at 10am on Friday 23rd June at Wyong Leagues Club. The cortege will then proceed the Jilliby Cemetery Hue Hue Rd Jilliby. Buses will be provided to and from Jilliby. A wake will then be held at the Wyong Leagues Club.
