Vale – Dennis George Burke

Dennis George Burke, 20^th January 1942 – 25^th August 2015, was born in Redfern and grew up in the Guildford area where he played Rugby League as a boy.

He married and moved to Campbelltown where he and his wife raised their four children and where he played First Grade for Campbelltown City Kangaroos, coached teams and served on committees. “Burkie” made a lot of good lifelong friends in the local rugby league community. Dennis was one of the gentlemen who put their hands up to be one of our Welfare Officers when we started the Men of League Branch in the Southern Highlands, because he wanted to put something back into his beloved sport and he will be truly missed.

Group 6 held a minutes silence before the start of the U18’s Camden Rams v Campbelltown City Kangaroos Major Semi Final last Sunday Morning, as a mark of respect for the good man.
