NSW and Gold Coast Titans Hooker Nathan Peats was a welcome special guest at the Tweed District Committee’s 8th Annual Bowls Day.
A record 104 bowlers did battle on the greens at Coolangatta but a lot of players did not immediately recognise Peats who was wearing his full-length beard.
Peats, the complete family man, with wife Jade and young sons Leyton and Harlem, lifted the spirits of the bowlers.
He said the Titans players were disappointed with last season’s results and were looking forward to the next season.
“We are keen to repay our supporters with a much-improved performance this season,” said Peats.
“We have a new coach in Garth Brennan, several new faces and new systems being set in place and are confident we will perform a lot better.”
The Bowls Day attendees and local committee were grateful for the surprise visit and helped the Foundation raise funds to care for the rugby league community.
