Ron Atkins visits Queensland greats

Ron Atkins, President of the Brisbane Men of League Committee, has been busy visiting former ex-players.
Recently Ron paid a visit to former Kangaroos winger Pat “Cocky” McMahon, along with rugby league historian and Men of League supporter Paul Hayes.

Ron and the Brisbane Committee helped get Pat and his wife Maureen into the St Pauls Nursing Home at Bardon recently. It was good to see them both settled in nicely.

Pat represented Australia in 1948 and also played 15 games for Queensland in his football career.

Ron has also spent some time catching up with former Queensland and Kangaroos player Harry “Mick” Crocker. Mick is recuperating in the Princess Alexandra Hospital after a fall while attending the fundraising lunch Peter Ryan at Kirra Beach.

Mick played 19 games for QLD and 17 games for Australia. His daughter dropped in while the guys were visiting and is hopeful to take Mick back home soon.
