Road to recovery for Ray

Northern Sydney Committee Officers Norm Pounder and Fred Jackson recently visited Ray in Narrabeen. Ray had not been well, but is now on the road to recovery and looking good.

He played with Newtown, Wests and Easts. Ray retired as a Chief Inspector from the NSW Police force, serving at Sydney Central, Newtown, Mona Vale and Manly police stations. He was a member of the Narrabeen Lakes Rotary and held many Committee positions.

Ray was also a member of Garie SLSC and North Narrabeen SLSC. While at Narrabeen, he was involved with the March Past team and running the Nippers, rising to the position of NSW State Manager.

Ray also played in the NSW police team at the Sydney Domain in the NSWPS ARL competition. We presented Ray with a Men of League Foundation polo shirt, and advised him that we will keep in contact. Both Ray and his wife Kay were very pleased to see us and thanked us and the Foundation for their kind thoughts and gift.
