Koen meets his idols Billy Slater, Cam Smith and the Melbourne Storm

Koen Weir, whose dad plays rugby league in Tieri, Central QLD, got to meet his football idols Billy Slater, Cam Smith and other Melbourne Storm players at the recent Storm v Cowboys game in Townsville. Billy spent some quality time with Koen and he also received a Maroons jersey signed by the Storm’s Queensland players. We are so proud to have made his dreams come true by organising the visit.

Koen was born at 28 weeks. He has an identical twin brother Lane. They had a really rough start in life as you can imagine. Koen weighed 1,154 grams at birth. He spent 76 days in hospital before being discharged around his actual due date.

When Koen was two, he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy Spastic Diaplegia. Living in Central Queensland has made life a little harder for Koen to attend  specialist appointments especially when he has to be away from school. However, this does not stop him from achieving his goals. He is a true inspiration.

Thanks to Billy and the Storm for making this dream come true for Koen and his family.
