Kenty’s Man of the Moment – Johnathan Thurston – Cowboys

Johnathan Thurston – Cowboys

Johnathan Thurston has been named on an extended bench for the Cowboys’ game against Parramatta this weekend and an entire state has sighed in relief.

Pay no attention that Thurston has been named in the No 19 jersey.

The quiet tip is Thurston will run out for the Cowboys in Darwin on Saturday, just in time for Queensland coach Kevin Walters to name him for the Maroons on Monday.

After injuring his calf against Wests Tigers in round six, Thurston missed three games and returned to play the Test for Australia against New Zealand, injuring his shoulder.

Another three games on the sideline, including missing what would have been his 37th straight Origin game, and Thurston is finally about to make it back in Cowboys colours.

Just in time for the Maroons to head in to camp next week as they try to square the series against NSW.
