If the Auckland 9’s are anything to go by, this Test match is going to be sensational. Ruan Sims who featured on our latest magazine issue will captain the Australian team for the first time when they play New Zealand on Friday night. She will play her sixth Test for Australia while five other players will be making their debuts in the Test – Libby Cook-Black, Caitlin Moran, Kody House, Corban McGregor and Allana Ferguson.

Getting to know Ruan over the past 2 years, I personally know the hours she has put in to her football not only on the field but off it. I suppose she has had no other option, having grown up in a Rugby League family, with her brothers all playing the game at the highest level. Another player to watch is debutant Allana Ferguson, being fantastic with the ball and great on her feet will become more prominent when the Ferns start to fatigue late in the game!
 
Kick off between the Jillaroos and the Ferns is at 5:20pm at Hunter Stadium on Friday, before the Test between the Kangaroos and Kiwis. Make sure you check it out!
