Broken leg not enough to keep Sharks tragic Joanne away from rugby league

Southern Sydney Committee members John Peard and John Harris recently spent a very enjoyable couple of hours visiting Cronulla Sharks tragic Joanne Goudie.  Joanne is recovering at home following major surgery for a broken leg after a fall at home. This, after being seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident in January 2017.

Joanne is a life long rugby league fan and has been a volunteer for the Cronulla Caringbah Junior Rugby League Football Club for many years. She is also a trainer and assistant for the Sharks Tarsha Gale League team.

Joanne has great knowledge of the game and is very forthright in expressing her opinions about the current state of the game and memories of the game over many years.  Joanne expressed a desire to volunteer for the Men of League Foundation in future and said that of course we would welcome her assistance with open arms!

She thanked the John’s for the visit and said how much she had enjoyed it and wished to thank the entire rugby  league community for the warm support she had received over the past two years.
