When members of our Western Sydney Committee visited Dave Kaye in Liverpool Hospital last week, Dave was in good spirits after the operation to remove his leg last week.
Dave’s brother-in-law is the 1960s Wests fullback, Tony Ford. Dave has been the gatekeeper at Thirlmere Tahmoor Roosters in Group 6 for many years. He is a Life Member of the Roosters and has been involved with the club for 36 years.
Dave told us stories of his favourite players such as Ken McGuiness, Leo Dynevor and Steve Sharp. There were also good stories of how he liked the old Western Suburbs Magpies Tony and Tommy Raudonikis played for them. Dave had even had the chance to enjoy a few beers Tony & Tommy at the Railway Hotel at Lidcombe.
For whet Dave has been thorough, he looked well and is being looked after by his lovely wife Dianne.
We presented Dave with a cap and wish him all the best with his recovery.
