A visit to Ray Beattie

Our Northern Sydney Committee Wellbeing Officers had a special visit in the Mater Hospital recently.

It was none other than our former interim Chief Executive Officer and Wellbeing Committee member Ray Beattie.

Ray recently had a robotic operation for a half knee replacement. Ken Vessey and Norm Pounder said he was very relaxed and looking forward to going home in a few days.

Ray played two 1st grade games for North Sydney in 1968, played with Norths for 5 seasons, started as a Balmain junior player and graded with Balmain in 1963 (3rd grade) and went back there in 1965. He was also known as an excellent sprinter professionally.

Ray has always served the Foundation selflessly and with dedication which included his stint as interim Chief Executive Officer in 2016. He has a long and comprehensive understanding of the Foundation and our charter to care for the men, women and children of the rugby league community.
