Vale Vince Pietracci

Born 22 May 1952. Passed away 21 January 2018.

Vincent Pietracci, Men of League Member 29875, passed away on 21 January 2018 after a long battle against cancer. He was a loving husband and family man who was highly respected in the community and a proud Men of League Member.

His loving wife Maxene, children Bart, Naiomi and Ben, grandchildren Bowen, William, Tom, Jessie, Molly, Matthew and great-grandson Brock will miss him dearly and never forget the wonderful years they shared with him.

Vince was an accomplished sportsman from an early age. He was regarded for his rugged, uncompromising style of play as a hooker and was well respected by all who played against him.

He played in the 1973 Balmain Tigers President Cup premiership team before being called up to play for the Balmain Tigers in their first Under 23’s premiership team, also in 1973.

After his playing career, he coached the Burwood Rugby League Club A-Grade team in the tough Western Suburbs Junior Rugby League competition, as well as being the youngest person to ever receive life membership from the Leichhardt Wanderers rugby league club.

Away from the rugby league field, Vincent played first grade soccer with the Apia Leichhardt Soccer Club and represented the Leichhardt Police Boys Club in the boxing ring.

It is not difficult to realise how he was admired and respected by so many people in the Leichhardt area and sporting community.

Rest in peace, Vince.
