VALE Trevor Treleaven (1941 – 2014)

ValeTrevor Treleaven (1941 – 2014)

The family and many friends of Trevor Treleaven paid tribute to the devoted husband, father, and grandfather and all round sportsman.  The chapel was filled to capacity, and the stories abundant after the service. It appeared everyone had a humorous tale involving Trevor. He lived life as it should be lived; involved in many sports, and making countless friends wherever he went.

Trevor and Mary were married for 53 years and their three sons; Stephen, Gary and Glenn completed a devoted family. Trevor made many friends from Beverley Park Golf Club where he was a VP and as a life member of St George Referees Association (rugby league) where he also served as on the appointments board.

As a young man he played for Arncliffe Scots in the St George district eventually retiring through injury. This meant the sports fanatic Trevor continued his love of rugby league as a referee. He once refereed a match where two of his sons were on opposite teams. Gary (Arncliffe Scots) and Stephen (Brighton Seagulls)

After witnessing Stephen’s rugby league team playing a cricket game at a football picnic Trevor was impressed and the same side then played in the St George Junior Cricket Competition with Trev as their coach. Following retirement the family moved down to the South Coast of NSW and true to form Trevor joined the Warilla Sports Club where he became vice president. He will be remembered for his gentle nature and great sense of humour. His complete devotion to his family and friends endeared him to all those fortunate to know Trevor Treleaven.
