Vale – Dr Bill Monaghan by NSW Leagues’ Club

The NSW Leagues’ Club is deeply saddened by the passing of long serving Director, past Chairman and current patron Dr Bill Monaghan. Dr Monaghan passed away this morning (August 13) after a long illness. 

Dr Monaghan was the long serving Medical Officer of both the NSW & Australian Rugby League for over 20 years and served the NSW Leagues’ Club as a Director and its Chairman until April this year.

Current Chairman Dennis Spagarino said, “We have sadly lost one the good ones – Bill gave a lifetime of service to the community as a highly qualified medical practitioner and was able to combine his passion for Rugby League by accepting the role as the Rugby League Doctor for over two decades.

Bill gave great service to the NSW Leagues’ Club and was an admired and greatly respected colleague. His calm and thoughtful approach to all matters will be greatly missed.”
