Vale – Craig Farrugia

Vale – Craig Farrugia

The rugby league community was shocked by the sudden death of former Eastern Suburbs hooker Craig Farrugia at the age of 54.

The Tweed Heads coach had just left the field when he suddenly collapsed from a suspected heart attack. Medical staff and paramedics were unable to revive him.

Craig, who played 8 first grade games for the Roosters in 1983 (the 751st player to pull on an Eastern Suburbs Roosters jersey) also played for Wynnum-Manly in Brisbane, Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast and coached Currumbin and Gold Coast junior representative teams.

Craig is survived by his wife Alison, son Adam and daughter Shannon.

The Men of League and rugby league community express their sincere sympathy to the family.

Rest in Peace Craig.
