3 May 1936 – 24 January 2013
Bob Tucker, a clever halfback with the Wests Magpies back in the 1950s, passed away last month. He played 58 matches for the club in 1954 and 1955, including six games with the first grade team. A local junior, Bob played at the same time as Keith Holman, so his first grade opportunities were limited.
Ray Bernasconi, the hard working Wests secretary from the 1970s and 1980s, remembers Bob well. “He was a good player,” said Ray, “especially in attack. He never complained about anything and was happy to give his best in any grade.”
Bob’s Wests Magpies playing number is 519, while super coach, Jack Gibson is number 520.
