The Contenders

Although everyone is saying that it is a race between three – Sharks, Storm and Cowboys, we have seen some new contenders come through over the last few weeks.

The Raiders are playing a good style of footy that is winning them some games and with the astute coaching of experienced coach Ricky Stuart, they are going to scare a couple of the teams ahead of them. With a big pack, wily halves and outside backs that can score from anywhere, they have an impressive mix of players.

The Titans are another side on the way up. They showed on Monday night they can rattle the top sides and some Sharks will be a bit sore and sorry today. Their aggressive, disciplined defence is a great foundation to play from and with experience forwards Bird, Douglas and McQueen they are not to be messed with!

We have an interesting final four rounds and I still think there are more shocks to come.
