Rugby league stars to headline Men of League Foundation Brisbane Kick Off

Rugby league stars Petero Civoniceva, Ali Brigginshaw and Matt Ballin are set to join the Men of League Foundation’s Queensland Committee as it celebrates the kick off of the 2018 NRL season at Newstead Brewing Co in Milton on Thursday 8 March 2018.

Foundation supporters will have the opportunity to hear insights about the Broncos’ upcoming season from former Queensland and Broncos legend, Petero Civoniceva, before watching the opening game of the NRL season on the big screen.

Attendees will also hear from Jillaroos star Ali Brigginshaw and former Queensland and Manly Sea Eagles hooker Matt Ballin as they regale event-goers with tales from their stellar careers during an hour-long Q&A session.

Men of League Foundation Queensland Manager David Shillington says that the event provides rugby league fanatics a great opportunity to get together and celebrate the game, all while supporting the Foundation.

“This will be a fantastic way for our supporters to get amongst the excitement around the launch of the new NRL season. Petero’s experience as an international player is second to none and guests will be eager to hear his predictions for how the Broncos’ upcoming season will pan out,” Shillington said.

“Ali Brigginshaw is a celebrated rugby league star, claiming Woman of the Match honours in the 2017 Women’s Rugby League World Cup Final and numerous other accolades as one of the pioneers of the women’s game,” he continued.

“Matt Ballin, with over 200 games and two Premierships with the Sea Eagles under his belt, has a wealth of experience as an elite rugby league player which will ensure he has some great stories to tell.

“Funds raised from the event will help the Men of League Foundation in its charter of caring for men, women and children of the rugby league community. The Foundation helps people with a range of services from visits to physical, financial and emotional support,” David concluded.
