Richard Korn

Former Penrith centre, Richard Korn is unfortunately suffering from Churg-Strauss syndrome. This disease is rare and has no cure; it causes the inflammation of the blood vessels. The inflammation can restrict the blood flow to vital organs and tissues of the feet and legs. Doctors can help control systems with steroids and other powerful immunosuppressant drugs. Richard has so far had three toes amputated from his left foot.

Richard played first grade for Gunnedah, Penrith in 1970, Boggabri and captain/coached Narrabri.

Living on the Gold Coast for the past ten years, Richard was delighted when Gold Coast Men of League Welfare Officers Greg Sylvester, Bob Honan and former Australian international hooker Ron Turner joined him for a cup of coffee, and presented him with a Men of League cap at Zaraffa’s in Pacific Pines. Richard and Ron have a lot in common both being Gunnedah locals.

The rugby league fraternity fully support Richard with his courageous battle against this disabling disease.
