Frank Barrett Resigns as Men of League Foundation CEO

RESIGNATION OF FRANK BARRETT

Professor the Hon Stephen Martin, Chairman of the Men of League Foundation, has today announced he has accepted the resignation of the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Frank Barrett, effective immediately.

Frank has provided the following note to the Chairman;

“I wish to advise all Men of League Foundation members, supporters, board and staff, I have today tendered my resignation as CEO, effective immediately.

My time at the Foundation has been very rewarding, providing me with a unique opportunity to experience the direct benefits of helping people in the community and celebrating the wonderful game of rugby league.

At this stage in my life, with a young growing family, it’s imperative they are considered on the same level as my professional career.

With this in mind, a relocation to Sydney is not something I can commit to at present, which is essential to fulfil this role effectively, hence my resignation.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Foundation during my three years of employment, it is greatly appreciated, with many new connections one of the many highlights.

There are exciting times ahead for the Foundation, especially with the new membership model and many other significant changes.

I encourage everyone to keep supporting and embracing these required changes to ensure the support for the men, woman and children of the rugby league community continues for another 15 years and beyond.”

‘I would like to thank Frank for his contribution over the past 3 years as Queensland State Manager and as CEO,’ Professor Martin said.
‘We wish him every success in his future endeavours and his involvement with the rugby league community.’

Professor Martin will act as Executive Chairman in the interim until a successor is determined.
