Reconnecting John Fawkner

Our Mid North Coast Committee visited Karingal Gardens Nursing Home in Taree recently to visit John Fawkner.

John, now 64 years old, began his career in his home town of Parkes at the age of 14. From there, he went on to play for Parkes under 18s from 1968 – 1972.

As a quality fullback, he played for Anderson Royals Newtown under coach Jack Gibson in 1973, for Clovelly in 1974, Taree United in Group 3 in 1978 (Premiers) and Taree Old Bar in 1979 (Premiers).

John was appreciative of the visit and our volunteers were glad to donate their time to help reconnect John with the rugby league community.
