Paul Yates, who is suffering from a brain tumour, greatly appreciated a visit from the Men of League Foundation’s Gold Coast committee members Greg Sylvester, Johnny Lang, Greg Roussell as well as also receiving a previous visit from Dennis Ward.

Paul had surgery for the removal of the brain tumour and underwent chemotherapy treatment in January, but unfortunately the tumour has returned in the same position.

Paul played centre in both the under 18’s and 21’s for Brothers St Brendan’s Football Club in Brisbane, where former Australian and Easts centre Mark Harris, Wests prop Jim Murphy and Rabbitohs winger Mitch Brennan were all team-mates, whilst his son, Josh, played hooker for South Logan.

As a sales representative for a medical company, he worked part-time with the Gold Coast Titans and loved working in the rugby league industry.

The Men Of League Foundation give their wholehearted support to Paul in his courageous fight and wish his wonderful wife Laura and the rest of the Yates family the best wishes for their journey.
