Vale Patrick McMahon

Rugby league lost a great player and wonderful man with the passing of Pat "Cocky" McMahon on November 25 2013, aged 86.

Pat McMahon was born on 21 June 1927 and played professional rugby league throughout the 1940s and 50s.

The winger was first selected to play for Queensland in 1946 – going on to play for his state in a total of 15 matches.
McMahon also represented Australia, making his international debut in 1948 as Kangaroo No. 241.

During his career McMahon also played for Mt Isa, Toowoomba's All Whites club and Babina. In 1956 he was also captain and coach of the Mitchell club.

Testament to McMahon’s valuable contribution to the game he was named on the bench of the Toowoomba and South West Team of the Century in 2008, in rugby league’s centenary year.
