Nick Esposito: A remarkable supporter through and through

NRL clubs have many thousands of supporters but none come more enthusiastic and loyal to the Sea Eagles than a 17 year old young man named Nick Esposito.

Nick lives with his Mum, Dad and Brothers Luke and Carlo and

Northern Sydney Welfare Officers Norm Pounder, Fred Jackson and Ken Vessey had the pleasure to meet Nick with his Mum (Maria), Dad (Peter) and Nick’s brothers (Luke and Carlo) recently at their home.

Nick was born with cerebral palsy and over the years has undergone many operations that have improved his condition and lifestyle to such an extent that he now attends normal schooling with a carer. We quickly became aware of his love for rugby league and his Sea Eagles who are also supported by his Mum. Dad supports the old St. George whilst Nick’s brother follow the Tigers.

To say “they are a rugby league family” would be an understatement and one can only imagine the debate when they all gather around the dinner table. During our visit we quickly became involved in a good conversation about the clubs we all supported.

Nick is a truly inspiring young man along with his wonderful family. We presented Nick with a Men of League polo shirt and cap in recognition of his spirit and avid support of rugby league for which he was most grateful.
