Men of League Foundation charity golf day sure to find the greens

Gold Coast Titans hero Nathan Friend will hit the fairways in the Fraser Coast Committee’s Charity Golf Day for the Men of League Foundation.

Teeing off at 8.30am at The Hervey Bay Golf Club with a shotgun start, the three ball Ambrose event is a chance to rub shoulders with a couple of rugby league larrikins and swap a few stories, as attendees make their way around this picturesque course.

The day is a chance for sporting fans to join in and help raise funds for the Men of League Foundation to ensure they can continue their important work in caring for the men, women and children of the rugby league community.

The Men of League Foundation’s Queensland State Manager David Shillington, says the Committee’s Golf Day provides the opportunity for some networking and rugby league chat in a relaxed atmosphere and he encourages everyone in the region to come along and join the fun.

“We’ve got a great day planned, with prizes, raffles and an auction,” he said.

“It is $200 for a team of three and incudes an egg and bacon breakfast burger, green fees, three on course drink vouchers and six golf balls per team, with nibbles to follow at the presentation.

“We are expecting a great roll up to support this important cause.

“We have a proud rugby league history and we hope to see lots of people come along. If you can’t join us on the day but would like to support us, we’d love you to become a member of the Foundation. Find out more at www.menofleague.com/membership,” David concluded.
