Men of League Foundation CEO Frank Barrett visits his Uncle Ronnie

Men of League Foundation CEO Frank Barrett recently visited his uncle Ron who had just been released from hospital in Toowoomba.

Despite some uncomfortable days, he was typically positive and wanting to chat all things footy. Frank and Ron shared the stories of his days playing for the Collegians Dragons, with the likes of Wayne Bennett and many other famous local names.

Despite having battled Parkinson’s disease for over 30 years, Ronnie was determined to be part of the conversation and loved the recent reunion of the mighty Dragons, including a catch up with Wayne and his beloved teammates.

Ronnie was a no-nonsense prop forward, who captained the 1965 Collegians U18’s Premiership team and was a prop in the famous 1967 A grade team at the tender age of 19.
