Leo Maloney – Tough as teak

A wellbeing visit was conducted recently to Leo Maloney at the Illawarra Retirement Trust William Beach Gardens in Dapto. Leo is suffering from dementia but otherwise is in good health. Leo’s old team mates Arthur Fenwick, Les Hannigan and Peter Bell also came along for the visit.

Arthur and Leo grew up together in the Balmain area and were both graded with Balmain. They both moved to the Illawarra at about the same time and both played for the Collegians and Dapto clubs in the Illawarra competition. Leo was a tough as teak forward in his days.

Memories soon came flooding back and he enjoyed the visit. He was presented with a Men of League Foundation polo and cap which he appreciated.
