Lending a helping hand to Gary on the Central Coast

Central Coast Wellbeing Officers Les Pearce and Dennis Tomsett recently visited Gary Polglase at his home in Woy Woy to check in with him.

Gary played rugby league with Macquarie Fields Hawkes from the mid 70s to early 80s. Unfortunately, Gary had a stroke in 2016 and was admitted to hospital for one week.

He was re-admitted to hospital early this year with bad circulation and underwent surgery resulting in the amputation of 7 toes. He also had a further complication of a ruptured bowel.

Given the conditions and trauma that Gary has been through, he was in good spirits although he is restricted with his walking.

Gary is overwhelmed and forever grateful of the support given by the Men Of League Foundation which has helped him greatly in dealing with his difficult times as a result of his illnesses.
