Kenty’s Man of the Moment – Reagan Campbell-Gillard – Penrith Panthers

The quiet whisper around town was that, if fit, Reagan Campbell-Gillard would have walked himself into the pretty sky blue of a NSW jersey this year.

It would have suited him perfectly, too.

Campbell-Gillard, the Penrith prop, is the rugby league equivalent of the guy at the party who is seen and not heard. He is devastating for the Panthers but most of his good work goes unnoticed by the wider rugby league audience. The Panthers sure notice when he is not there, though.

He is vital to Penrith saving their season, which begins this week. The Panthers are only one place out of the top four but, more of a worry, four points behind eighth-placed Parramatta and head into Saturday’s game against Manly at Pepper Stadium knowing a win is vital.

The Panthers have been good recently against Penrith, winning their past four and six of their past seven.
