Kel Bright – A coach then, a friend always

In the month of May, Peter Moses, Mark Abood and John North travelled to Orange to visit Kel Bright. Kel coached Peter, Mark and John at the Granville Cheetahs in 1969/1970 in the Parramatta District Competition.

Earlier this year, Kel was involved in a car accident which left him unable to return home. He was in good spirits and all of the guys thoroughly enjoyed their time with their old coach and mentor.

Involved in rugby league his whole life, Kel played at Paddington, before coaching the Granville Cheetahs and Camden Rams for several years at each club respectively.

He was also involved in the Greyhound industry his whole life and still enjoys keeping a close eye on proceedings.

A big thank you to Royce George from the Foundation’s Central West Committee for visiting Kel, as well as Garry O’Donnell from the Western Sydney Committee for organising Royce to catch up with Kel.
