Gunner on the up

On Friday, 6th September, 2013 Sydney Metro MoL welfare officers Warren Thompson and Alan Webb, together with John Peard, attended St. Luke’s Hospital, Potts Point to visit John "Gunner" Williams.

Gunner was doing Rehab at St. Luke’s having been operated on the week before at St. Vincents – he had left knee replacement and is looking forward to returning to his farm outside of Forbes.

Gunner was presented with a Men of League Polo shirt and cap.

Many a story was told on the day by both Gunner and John Peard who have met several times previously at Men of League Functions in the Forbes, Dubbo areas.

Gunner played for Condobolin Under 18s, and then for Forbes.

He is heavily involved with the Men of League Foundation Central West Division.

Gunner expressed his thanks for our visit and was proud to be a member of the Men of League Foundation. We wish him all the best in his recovery.
