DFR Brisbane military staff joined forces with NHQ-SQ and RAAF Amberley at the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention centre on 17 Sep 2015.
The community engagement event coordinated by WO Mark Donlan was in support of the Men of League Foundation to help raise funds for the wider National Rugby League community. The twenty tri service volunteers assisted the Men of League staff with venue setup, VIP seating and raffle ticket sales during the event. LS Gemma Tilly from the Royal Australian Navy Band sang the Australian National anthem to open the event.
The event which was attended by 900 guests provided the opportunity to showcase and further promote Defence within the wider community. The Defence members enjoyed the three course lunch and entertainment and also had the opportunity to meet and have photos with current and former NRL Queensland players / coaching staff.
As the Defence Ambassador to the Men of League Foundation I was extremely proud of the professionalism shown by all volunteers and encouraged by the positive feedback received from the guests. I would like to acknowledge the volunteers and pass on my personal thanks for your time and contribution.
