Chris Letters – On the mend

Chris Letters, a Northern Sydney Committee Member was very pleased to receive a visit from his fellow Northern Sydney Welfare Officers Fred Jackson, Norm Pounder and Ken Vessey on the 29 January 2014 at the Mount Wilga Private Hospital, Hornsby, where he is recovering from recent triple by-pass heart surgery.

Chris is the type of Committee Member that any organization dreams of having and our Committee is pleased to have him; there are no tasks/activities that Chris competently will not take on or participate in including Kick Off Clubs, golf and bowls days, special functions, manning membership tables at Junior Rugby Grand Final Days and especially involvement in welfare activities where his mild manner and dry sense of humour contributes greatly to successful and rewarding welfare visits.

On the day we visited Chris we saw his charming wife Gwen ,who is at the same Hospital recovering from a fractured pelvis and we were delighted to hear that it was their 48th Wedding Anniversary but both had decided to hold the champagne popping until they were home.

Congratulations and good luck to both of them.

Chris has supported Rugby League all his life and having frequented the Eastern Suburbs, Sydney for the greater part of his life, it is understandable that he is a true blue Sydney Roosters supporter and naturally was thrilled with the successes in the 2013 competition.

He was appreciative of a polo shirt/cap to be presented and of the kindness that had been shown to them by the Men of League Foundation in their current predicaments.

We wish them best wishes and we are sure that both of them will have speedy recoveries to good health.
