Checking in with Elaine and family in WA

Western Australia Men of League Committee President, James ‘Sully’ Sullivan, was alerted about the plight of Elaine Landers, a lady of 80yrs of age with a lifetime of experience in rugby league throughout Australia and was facing some hard times after the sudden passing of her eldest son Brett.

Sully and Wellbeing Officer Matt Fuller, who coincidentally has known Elaine since his younger years in Sydney, headed up to Butler to catch up with Elaine along with youngest son Kurt and his wife Sue.

Both Sully and Matt enjoyed a wonderful couple of hours chatting about football and family. The men gave Elaine Woolworths vouchers and asked if the Foundation could help with anything else. They found out Elaine’s car battery wasn’t charging so a call to David Stirling from Port Kennedy Auto Parts & West Batteries was made and a battery was delivered the next day. Thank you David for the generous donation.

Elaine thanked the boys and the Foundation for caring so much about her making sure she was doing okay.
