Bomber catches up with Colin from Kirrawee

John Peard and John Harris had the pleasure of visiting Colin Beath who lives independently in a retirement facility at Kirrawee.

Originally from Gooloogong in Central Western NSW, number four in a family of eight boys and one girl, Colin followed eldest brother Barry (St George 1966-1977, Australia 1965 and 1971) to the big smoke and had a season with Souths in 1970. He then embarked on an extended around Australia adventure for the next few years.

Colin still has a keen interest in the NRL and follows the Sharks, Dragons and Rabbitohs.

He was involved in junior league in the Shire for many years and served on the judiciary.

Bomber, as usual, produced plenty of hilarious anecdotes and recollections of his time with St George in the early 1970’s when he played with Barry.

Despite having several major health issues, Colin is in good spirits and is inspirational in his attitude.

He was pleased to receive a Men of League Foundation shirt and a Rabbitohs cap courtesy of Alan Webb.
